Cookies & Storage
Last updated 5 October 2026
This site sets no cookies. There is no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. One preference is stored in your browser, and only if you change it.
Why there is no cookie banner
Consent banners exist because of laws — the UK's PECR and the EU's ePrivacy Directive — that require permission before storing or reading information on your device, unless that storage is strictly necessary for a service you asked for.
This site sets no cookies at all, so most of that does not apply. The single item it does store is your own theme choice, saved only when you click the toggle. That is storage you explicitly requested, it is used for nothing else, and it is not shared or read by anyone. On that basis no consent banner is required, and showing one would imply tracking that does not happen.
What is stored
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
amy-theme |
Local storage | Remembers whether you chose light or dark, so the site does not change on you between visits. Only written if you use the toggle. | Until you clear site data |
What is not here
- No cookies — first-party or third-party
- No Google Analytics or any other analytics
- No advertising, retargeting or fingerprinting
- No embedded videos, maps, fonts or social widgets
- No external scripts or stylesheets of any kind
You can confirm all of this: the site is a single HTML file, and the source is public. Your browser's developer tools will show no cookies and no outbound requests.
Removing the stored preference
Clear site data for this domain in your browser settings, or use private browsing. Nothing breaks — the site simply follows your system's light or dark setting again.
